The Story Behind Kachi Mitti
Kachi Mitti brings Bilal Wajid's Punjabi voice to the 2022 Tich Button soundtrack, with an arrangement built around acoustic strings, flute and percussion.
Adrian David and Wajid composed the song, while Wajid and Qasim Ali Mureed wrote its words. Recorded and produced at ADE Studios, it pairs Rahil Mirza's guitar with Haider Ali's mandolin and Hassan Badshah's flute and jodi. Dholak, tabla, dhol and duff round out the credited instrumental palette. Wajid, David, Umair Hassan and Shehbaz Ali supply the backing vocals, with M. Ishaq Nazir handling the mix and master.
The soundtrack appeared in October 2022. ARY Digital HD followed with this compact, 96-second music video in December, a shorter presentation than the album's two-minute-plus track. Its instrumentation places a Punjabi folk palette inside a film-song arrangement.
