The Story Behind Mafaad Parast OST
Released as the title song for Geo Entertainment's 2025 drama Mafaad Parast, this OST brings together singer Nabeel Shaukat Ali, composer Naveed Nashad and lyricist Qamar Nashad. The arrangement returns to a repeated plea for divine protection, giving Ali's solo vocal an emotional anchor that suits a serial built around love, betrayal and self-interest. The drama follows cousins Zara and Mehroo, whose opposing temperaments turn a shared family home into a struggle involving resentment, ambition and wounded loyalty. That contrast gives the song its emotional frame: it sounds less like a plot summary than the private plea of someone trying to endure broken trust without becoming equally cruel. Presented by Geo and 7th Sky Entertainment, the serial was directed by Muhammad Iftikhar Iffi from scripts by Saba Hassan and Aneela Syed.
Meaning & Translation
Mafaad parast means a self-interested or opportunistic person. The song speaks from the perspective of someone wounded by promises that were always destined to break. Its recurring appeal to God asks for protection, release from grief and a way through emotional darkness. Even while confronting betrayal, the narrator refuses revenge, responding to hurt with prayer and choosing not to expose the faithless beloved. That restraint gives the lament its moral center. The title also connects the song to the drama's conflict, where affection and family loyalty are tested by ambition, greed and characters who treat love as a tool for personal gain.
