Meaning & Translation
Manzil-e-Sufi means "the Sufi's destination" or spiritual station. The Seraiki text imagines that destination as union with the beloved, a familiar Sufi image for closeness to the divine. Its speaker rejects the mullah's rebuke and values ecstatic devotion over public respectability, even embracing dance and the wandering life of a female ascetic, a jogan, to win the beloved's favor. As the refrain turns inward, the self begins to dissolve into thought and vision, and longing becomes a search for direct encounter. The song treats surrender not as defeat but as liberation: social labels fall away, the ego loosens its hold, and love becomes both the journey and its goal.
