Meesha Shafi's Boom Boom is a 2020 VELO Sound Station reworking of the pop classic first recorded by Nazia Hassan for the 1982 Star soundtrack. Bilal Maqsood reshaped Biddu's composition for the session, retaining its disco heartbeat while giving the arrangement a polished electronic edge. Shafi begins in a low register with a new English passage, then lets the familiar Hindi refrain open into a bright, dance-ready performance. Released in the show's third episode, the cover was framed by VELO as a tribute to Pakistani pop, with psychedelic lighting and animation reinforcing its retro-futurist mood. The title Boom Boom imitates the sound of a racing heartbeat.
