The Story Behind Muhafiz OST
Sahir Ali Bagga sings and composes the title song of Muhafiz, the 7th Sky Entertainment serial that began its daily run on Har Pal Geo on 30 June 2026. The OST went up three days ahead of the premiere, on 27 June, with Azaan Zayer Bagga credited for the music and the lyric split between Bagga himself and the Urdu poet Purnam Allahabadi, a shared credit worth noticing on a television theme. At five and a half minutes it also runs longer than most title songs, which gives Bagga room to sit inside the melody instead of racing through it. The serial behind it was produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, directed by Syed Ramish Rizvi and written by Sadia Akhtar, with Junaid Khan and Momina Iqbal leading as Zawar and Paras.
Meaning & Translation
Muhafiz is Urdu for a guardian, the one who keeps something safe, and the song takes that word as a test rather than a title. Its refrain, jaan jab tak fida nahi hoti, turns on the idea that devotion only counts once a life has been laid down for it, and that anything short of that is affection rather than protection. Around that line the lyric works through a quieter argument: loyalty cannot be asked of someone who has none to give, so the singer keeps measuring his own constancy instead of demanding it back. For a serial called Muhafiz, that reads less like a love song than a job description.
