The Story Behind Pyari Mona OST
Released by HUM TV on 24 December 2022, the Pyari Mona OST places its heroine's search for freedom at the center of the song. Annural Khalid sings the title theme, Adrian David Emmanuel composed the music, and Sibtain Khalid wrote the lyrics. The recording accompanies Haseeb Ahmed's drama starring Sanam Jung as Mona, a woman who faces body shaming at work and within her family. The refrain's recurring image of an open sky connects the music to Mona's refusal to let other people's beauty standards limit her choices. HUM TV presented the track as a lyrical video and described it as a refreshing soundtrack intended to lift the listener's mood. Its focus on a woman choosing her own path gives the serial's central struggle a voice beyond the dialogue.
Meaning & Translation
Pyari Mona means "Dear Mona," an affectionate address to the drama's heroine. The Urdu song speaks in the first person about growing tired of other people's judgments and deciding to follow one's own wishes. Its open sky image suggests a life with more space and possibility; the thought of flight turns freedom into something the singer can imagine doing, not just wishing for. The words also acknowledge tears and the harm caused by criticism, so the hopeful turn does not erase what came before. For Mona, who faces body shaming throughout the serial, the refrain expresses a decision to live by her own sense of worth rather than an imposed standard of beauty.
