The Story Behind Raqeeb Se OST (Full Version)
Hadiqa Kiani released this full, five-minute version of Raqeeb Se on her official channel with an English translation, giving HUM TV's 2021 drama a complete song presentation beside its shorter title cut. Kiani is both the drama's Sakina and the soundtrack's singer and composer. Her mother, Khawar Kiani, wrote the poem, while Baqir Abbas arranged the music. The artist's credit block names all three, and HUM TV's later full-length upload confirms the same team.
This edition places the complete, sorrowful performance at the centre rather than using it only as a television theme. In a 2021 interview, Kiani described the sadness she brought to Sakina and the haunting quality of the melody she composed for the drama. The English translation opens that feeling to listeners beyond the song's Urdu words.
Meaning & Translation
In Urdu, raqeeb means a rival in love, and the title addresses the person who shares the beloved's affection. Khawar Kiani's poem dwells on betrayal and misplaced trust rather than turning that rival into a villain. Memories that once offered comfort now seem uncertain; images of darkness and unreliable light make the speaker's grief feel disorienting. The recurring doubt is about more than losing a lover. It is about wondering whether the relationship was ever as secure as it seemed. That private reckoning fits Sakina's unresolved past in the drama, where old affection and hurt continue to shape the present.
