The Story Behind Shan-e-Ramazan Kalaam
Shan-e-Ramazan Kalaam is ARY Digital's 2018 Ramadan anthem, bringing Waseem Badami together with the voices of Junaid Jamshed and Amjad Sabri. Wajid Saeed supplied the music, Muhammad Nasir and Syed Rehan Haider wrote the words, and Syed Hamid Hussain produced the ARY Films & TV production, with Shehzad Hassan Khan as executive producer.
The official video carries its devotional message through scenes of care filmed around Pakistan: a village receives solar panels, food is shared at iftar, a child is helped toward medical treatment, and a confrontation ends in repentance. Waseem Badami's direct delivery is answered by the distinctive voices of Jamshed and Sabri, giving the kalaam an intimate yet communal pull. Iqrar-ul-Hassan appears in the charitable story, while ARY's credits identify Badami, Jamshed, and Sabri as the vocalists.
Meaning & Translation
The title Shan-e-Ramazan means "the glory" or "splendour of Ramadan," while kalaam refers here to devotional verse. The song presents the holy month as a call to turn faith into generous action. Prayer and reverence matter, but its central idea is that devotion becomes visible through empathy: sharing an iftar, helping a family in need, supporting a child's treatment, and guiding someone toward forgiveness.
The three voices give that message a shared, communal character rather than treating Ramadan as a private experience. In English, the title celebrates the dignity and grace associated with the month. Its larger meaning is that Ramadan's spiritual beauty is expressed through compassion, service, gratitude, and practical care for people whose needs might otherwise be overlooked.
