The Story Behind Sila E Mohabbat OST
Sila E Mohabbat OST is Muqaddas Azeem's theme for HUM TV's 2021 serial, a story about a vibrant young woman whose happiness is overtaken by painful consequences. Sami Khan wrote the lyrics, and Black Mug Productions handled both the composition and music production. HUM released the full soundtrack on its official YouTube channel on 12 October 2021, one day after the serial premiered. The writing moves between Urdu and Punjabi as romantic loss takes on a mystical register, with darkness, separation and the hope of a guiding light shaping the refrain. Azeem's solo vocal keeps that emotional conflict at the center, linking the song's spiritual imagery to the drama's questions of love, consequence and rescue. The serial was written by Nadia Ahmed, directed by Adeel Siddiqui and produced by Momina Duraid.
Meaning & Translation
Sila-e-mohabbat means the reward, or recompense, of love. In this song, the phrase carries an aching irony: the speaker gives love but receives separation, silence and a long night of grief in return. The Urdu verses frame that absence as darkness that can still be broken by a small light, while Punjabi-inflected lines invoke a murshad, or spiritual guide, and give the longing a devotional shade. The beloved can therefore be heard as a human partner, a guiding presence, or both. The song does not treat heartbreak as final. Buried hopes rise again, turning sorrow into a search for the person or faith that can make life feel whole.
