The Story Behind Tum Se Kehna Tha OST
Tum Se Kehna Tha OST is Ali Haider's title song for HUM TV's 2020 romantic serial of the same name. Haider performs the track and wrote both its words and composition, while Shumal Mirza shares the music credit. HUM TV introduced the song on 10 November 2020, shortly before the drama began its television run, placing Haider's voice at the entrance to a story led by Kinza Hashmi, Azfar Rehman and Areej Moheyuddin Khan. The serial was written by Jahenzeb Qamar, directed by Fahim Burney and presented by Momina Duraid Productions. At just over two minutes, the recording keeps its focus on Haider's solo delivery and the simple, conversational pull of its title, turning an unspoken confession into the drama's compact musical signature.
Meaning & Translation
Tum se kehna tha is an Urdu phrase meaning there was something I wanted to tell you. It carries the feeling of a confession held back until the words have gathered emotional weight. The song treats the beloved as the heart's source of calm and imagines love as closeness, trust and the courage to cross whatever stands between two people. Its central thought is not a grand declaration made from a distance, but an intimate sentence finally spoken directly to the person who needs to hear it. In the drama's romantic setting, that hesitation also suggests how easily desire, timing and silence can pull relationships in different directions.
