The Story Behind Visaal OST
Visaal OST is Asrar's title song for ARY Digital's 2018 serial Visaal, with music composed by Waqar Ali and lyrics by Sabir Zafar. Released alongside the drama's March 2018 launch, the track gives musical shape to Hashim Nadeem's story of deception, love and betrayal. Zahid Ahmed plays Akram, a newcomer whose pursuit of Pari, played by Hania Aamir, is diverted by a mistaken proposal to Naheed, played by Saboor Aly. Director Ali Hasan builds the serial around that damaging misunderstanding, while Asrar's expressive lead vocal keeps the song focused on desire rather than plot summary. The recurring language of love, pain and impossible union mirrors a drama in which longing is inseparable from manipulation and loss, making the OST a compact emotional frame for the triangle at its centre.
Meaning & Translation
Visaal is an Urdu word for union, reunion or meeting with the beloved, especially in the language of poetry. Here, the title carries an irony: the song reaches for closeness while its lovers remain caught in distance, misunderstanding and pain. The refrain treats love as something overpowering that cannot simply be summoned or extinguished. Images of the heart, stars and restless yearning make the beloved seem present everywhere, even when true union remains out of reach. In the drama's context, that longing also has a darker edge. Desire is not only tender; it becomes entangled with deception and possession, so the hoped-for visaal feels less like a happy ending than an ideal repeatedly denied.
