About Adhi Gawahi

Adhi Gawahi turns a university film assignment into a bruising battle over consent, reputation, and who gets believed. Salwa Mansoor (Sohai Ali Abro) is a warm, independent media student raised inside a busy extended family, where everyone assumes she will eventually marry her childhood friend and cousin Saad (Ali Josh). The arrangement already stings Soha (Uzma Khan), who loves Saad and sees Salwa as a rival. Then Saad's injury pairs Salwa with wealthy, possessive classmate Hamdan Mustafa (Azfar Rehman) for their final project. A nikkah scene filmed as fiction proves frighteningly real, giving Hamdan the leverage to force himself into Salwa's future just as her family begins preparing for her marriage to Saad. Azfar Rehman makes Hamdan's entitlement chillingly casual, while Ali Josh gives Saad a steadiness that keeps the central triangle from sliding into pure melodrama. The staged nikkah conceit is a genuinely sharp engine for suspense. Our gripe? Salwa and Soha initially need more texture than the script gives them, leaving Sohai Ali Abro and Uzma Khan to push against thin character work. The women deserve richer writing, but the central trap has a nasty, undeniable pull.
