About Afrah Tafreeh
Afrah Tafreeh is a breezy Eid romantic comedy that sends Khushi (Kubra Khan), the sheltered daughter of swaggering hotelier and self-styled don Jamshed Bandookwala, racing away from an arranged marriage. Her escape collides with Ameer (Bilal Khan), a sleepy hotel employee who impulsively drives off in his boss's car, unaware that Khushi is along for the ride. With Jamshed and his flustered staff in pursuit, the unlikely pair trade barbs across a whirlwind of beaches, roadside food and small tastes of freedom. Writer Kishore Asmal builds the fun around a classic class divide: Khushi has privilege without choice, while Ameer has independence without money or direction. Kubra Khan and Bilal Khan give the chase its playful romantic spark, while Samina Ahmad, Jawed Sheikh and Ayaz Samoo populate the gangster comedy with broad, eccentric energy. It is a light, fast-moving holiday watch about choosing your own path when family plans have already boxed you in.
Editor’s Take
Kubra Khan is the bright center of Afrah Tafreeh, giving Khushi enough mischief and warmth to make the runaway chaos sing, while Samina Ahmad quietly steals her scenes. We enjoyed the breezy beach-and-dhaba detour, but the romance races from banter to devotion before Bilal Khan can fully sell the shift, and the broad gangster gags sometimes shout past the joke. Still, as an Eid sugar rush, it is cheerfully ridiculous and easy to finish.
