About Aik Chubhan Si

Naila (Sonya Hussyn) has the kind of marriage other women quietly envy. Her home with Haroon (Sami Khan) runs on affection, routine, and the easy assumption that nothing is coming for it. Then an outsider arrives needing shelter, and the family opens the door without a second thought. Hira Khan plays the guest whose presence slowly rearranges every relationship in the house, turning warmth into suspicion and a settled marriage into a daily negotiation. What follows is less a scandal than a slow unraveling, one small betrayal at a time, until the life Naila built starts coming apart in her hands. Written by Rukhsana Nigar and directed by Mohsin Talat, this 32 episode HUM TV serial skips the usual saas bahu conspiracies for something more uncomfortable: the damage a single welcomed stranger can do from inside a loving home. Asma Abbas and Fahad Sheikh round out a compact, tightly drawn cast.

Editor’s Take

Sonya Hussyn and Sami Khan play married like people who have actually been married: comfortable, unglamorous, entirely believable, which is exactly what makes the intrusion sting. Fahad Sheikh is the quiet surprise, dialled down and far better for it. Our one gripe? The outsider is written as a wrecking ball rather than a person, and a greyer, more substantial antagonist would have made the damage hurt more. Even so, viewers stayed to the end: the finale drew the biggest audience of the entire run.
