About Ali Ki Ammi

Maryam (Samiya Mumtaz) is a bubbly dreamer who falls in love and marries against her family's wishes, and pays for that choice twice over. Her relatives cut every tie, and then the truth arrives: Nadir, the man she married, already has a wife and two grown children. A hostile mother-in-law and Nadir's first wife turn her new home into a daily trial. Then Ali is born, and Maryam finds something larger than her own misery to live for, swearing that not one of her deprivations will ever touch her son. Schooled only to Matric herself, she works through dictionaries and books so the boy can have the education she never got. Based on a real story, this 26-episode Har Pal Geo serial follows that long climb toward its hardest question: when Ali is finally grown, will he see what his mother gave up, or only a parent doing her job?
