About Alvida

Haya (Sanam Jung) has spent years mistaking the warmth of her cousin Hadi (Imran Abbas) for a promise. When the successful doctor returns home, she expects their childhood bond to become romance, only to discover that his heart belongs to her sister Uroosa (Naveen Waqar). That rejection sends a headstrong young woman out of the family cocoon and toward a life of her own, where the attentive Rameez (Zahid Ahmed) seems to offer the certainty she craves. Meanwhile, Haya's childhood friend and cousin Farisa (Sarah Khan) brings her own desires into an already tangled household. Written by Samira Fazal, Alvida turns a familiar web of unrequited love and cousin relationships into a brisk emotional drama about jealousy, grief, possessiveness, and the costly decisions people make when affection becomes entitlement. Its characters are rarely tidy or sensible, which is exactly what keeps their shifting loyalties compelling. Come for Sanam Jung and Imran Abbas's reunion, stay for the darker edges beneath the romance.

Editor’s Take

Zahid Ahmed is Alvida's live wire, turning Rameez's charm into an unease that tightens every scene, while Sanam Jung and Imran Abbas give the central longing an easy, lived-in chemistry. Shehzad Kashmiri's brisk direction keeps Samira Fazal's twists moving, a welcome change from serials padded past their natural life. Our one gripe? Hadi is written more simply than the volatile people orbiting him, so Imran Abbas has less texture to play. Still, this is glossy melodrama with a pulse, and we could not look away.
