About Bhaag Amina Bhaag
Inspired by the life of Pakistani sprinter Naseem Hamid, Bhaag Amina Bhaag follows Amina (Aamina Sheikh), a fiercely self-believing girl growing up in a modest railway colony in Korangi. Her speed offers a route toward a future far bigger than the narrow one prescribed for her, but ambition comes with resistance at home and beyond. An abusive father, entrenched preference for sons, social suspicion and the practical barriers facing a working-class athlete all crowd her lane. Amina's childhood friend Haris (Shehroz Sabzwari) encourages her to keep moving, while her mother (Lubna Aslam) gradually finds the courage to stand beside her. Written by Farah Usman and directed by Yasir Nawaz, the telefilm turns a national sporting achievement into an intimate story of grit, guidance and self-determination.
