About BISMIL
Masooma (Hareem Farooq) refuses to accept the limits of her modest life. Clever, restless, and determined to secure the luxury she believes she deserves, she enters the orbit of wealthy businessman Tauqeer Taseer (Naumaan Ijaz) and his tightly knit family. Tauqeer's composed wife Reham (Savera Nadeem) has built a stable home around trust, history, and their son, but Masooma's arrival exposes desires and fractures that money has kept comfortably hidden. What begins as a pursuit of status soon becomes a dangerous contest between ambition, loyalty, and self-respect, with every relationship carrying a price. Written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, Bismil turns a familiar domestic setup into a tense study of class hunger and emotional betrayal. Hareem Farooq gives Masooma enough nerve to make every choice unpredictable, while Naumaan Ijaz and Savera Nadeem bring bruised maturity to a family drama where love and calculation are never far apart.
Editor’s Take
Hareem Farooq gives Masooma a brazen, unsettling confidence, but Savera Nadeem's quiet devastation is the performance that stays with us. The charged silences around Naumaan Ijaz make this household feel combustible even before anyone raises a voice. Our one gripe? The drama sometimes presses its moral argument so hard that its complicated characters become pieces on a cautionary chessboard. Still, Bismil knows how to turn ambition into irresistible domestic warfare.
