About College Gate

College Gate follows six students who arrive at a prestigious campus carrying very different ambitions, family pressures and ideas about adulthood. Wahaj Qureshi (Zarrar Khan) dreams of building a life through music, while the privileged but deeply desi Usman Jutt (Khaqan Shahnawaz) hopes to modernise his family's dairy business. Annie (Mamya Shajaffar), Bilal (Shuja Asad), Maria (Natalia Castillo) and hardworking Sam (Hina Chaudhary) complete a friendship circle shaped by class, confidence, romance and the daily comedy of college life. Around them, teachers and parents turn academic success, financial independence and career choices into battles that feel urgent rather than abstract. The serial brings youthful energy to subjects Pakistani television rarely gives this much room: peer pressure, communication gaps at home, competing teaching styles and the tug between personal passion and practical security. Warm, colourful and driven by an appealing ensemble, College Gate is a campus story about finding your people while trying to find yourself.

Editor’s Take

College Gate is at its best when its young ensemble turns campus pressure into buoyant comedy, especially Khaqan Shahnawaz's wonderfully flustered Usman. We also admire how the writing makes room for academic stress, family expectations and different teaching styles without surrendering the show's bright, youthful pulse. Our one gripe? Some themes are announced more loudly than they are explored, and Sam deserves richer material. Still, this is a rare Pakistani teen drama with real fizz and heart.
