About Dastaan

Set against the upheaval of the 1947 Partition, Dastaan follows Bano (Sanam Baloch), a sheltered young Muslim woman in Ludhiana, and Hassan (Fawad Khan), an idealistic engineering student committed to the Muslim League. Their tender romance grows inside a close-knit household where political loyalties are beginning to divide families, neighbors, and a country. As violence closes in, the dream of Pakistan stops being an abstract cause and becomes a test of love, survival, and belonging. Adapted by Samira Fazal from Razia Butt's novel Bano, the serial places intimate choices against a vast historical rupture without losing sight of the people caught inside it. Sanam Baloch gives Bano's awakening real emotional force, while Fawad Khan brings warmth and conviction to Hassan. With Saba Qamar, Ahsan Khan, Samina Peerzada, Saba Hameed, and Mehreen Raheel shaping the wider family world, Dastaan is a sweeping, deeply human period drama about what history demands from ordinary lives.
