About Khudgarz

Junaid (Syed Jibran) and Hassan (Sami Khan) are cousins raised in the same house, but nothing else about them matches. Junaid, taken in by his uncle after his father's death, is grateful and quietly selfless. Hassan is spoiled, arrogant and casually cruel, especially to the women around him. When Hassan is set up in an arranged marriage with Ayera (Aamina Sheikh), an educated psychologist, he is already secretly married to Abeer (Mansha Pasha), a wife he keeps hidden and takes for granted while she pleads to be acknowledged. Then Hassan vanishes on his own wedding day, and the family asks Junaid to settle his debt to them by marrying Ayera in his place, on the spot, so the household keeps its dignity. Two strangers begin a marriage neither chose, and Hassan's jealousy curdles into revenge. Writer Rida Bilal builds this ARY Digital serial around depression, envy and the damage selfishness leaves behind.

Editor’s Take

Sami Khan plays Hassan without once asking for our sympathy, and it's the best work of his career: petty, preening, impossible to defend. Rida Bilal writes jealousy and depression like someone who has watched them corrode a family, and that OST will not leave you alone. Our one gripe? The scenes meant to nudge Hassan toward daylight are too few, so his hardest turn arrives half-earned. Selfishness has rarely looked this watchable.
