About Dear Bestie

Dear Bestie follows three young women whose friendship becomes an anchor while each tries to build an adult life on her own terms. Ayra (Aena Khan) comes from a restrained middle-class home and finds her plans for a salon colliding with well-meaning in-laws who imagine a far more extravagant future for her. Eman (Maha Hasan) is an ambitious journalist itching to tackle serious stories, yet first she must persuade an editor who keeps her ambitions at arm's length. Dania (Romaisa Khan), meanwhile, wants to become an influencer but struggles to find an authentic voice in a crowded market and a family full of boys. Directed by Mehreen Jabbar, the series places careers, social pressure and personal choices inside a bright Gen Z world where confidence is never as effortless as it looks online. Its warmest promise is simple: dreams may pull these besties in different directions, but friendship gives them somewhere honest to return.

Mehreen Jabbar gives Dear Bestie a bright, quick-footed warmth, and the three friends' career anxieties make its Gen Z world feel lived-in once the story settles. Our one gripe? The opening's candy-coloured polish initially sands away some of the insecurity these women are meant to carry. Once Ayra, Eman and Dania start pushing against family pressure, workplace limits and influencer noise, the sweetness earns its place. This is comfort viewing with a contemporary pulse.
