About Haiwan

Across two neighboring households, Haiwan turns one man's hidden crime into a suffocating study of guilt, fear, and the damage secrecy inflicts on families. Hameed (Faysal Quraishi) is a harsh, heavy-drinking patriarch whose life is shaken by an unforgivable act. His patient wife Kulsum (Iffat Omar) keeps absorbing his anger to hold their home together. Across the street, widowed Azra (Sawera Nadeem) has built a warm, modest life with daughters Momina (Sanam Chaudhry) and Masooma (Areesha Ahsan), a child whose severe asthma keeps her mother constantly watchful. When Masooma suddenly disappears, that fragile peace collapses. Hameed's returning son Maan (Wahaj Ali) grows close to Momina, drawing the two families together just as Hameed is desperate to keep them apart. Written by Sara Sadain Syed, the serial builds its tension from that cruel proximity, where affection, suspicion, and conscience press against a secret capable of remaking every relationship.

Editor’s Take

Haiwan's sharpest choice is its cruel geography: two neighboring families drawn closer while Hameed's secret poisons every ordinary interaction. That setup gives the guilt a genuinely claustrophobic pull. Our one gripe? The serial keeps piling tragedy onto an already devastating premise, and the social warning can start to feel sensationalized instead of illuminating. Even so, its moral unease lingers. This is bruising television with a conscience, even when it presses far too hard.
