About Hook

Hook begins with Haya (Kinza Hashmi), a middle-class young woman who has built a quiet life with her elder sister after losing their parents. She loves Zayan (Mirza Zain Baig), the emotional only son of a wealthy family, but their future is threatened by Shaheer Illahi (Shahroz Sabzwari). Shaheer's one-sided obsession ignores Haya's refusal, and his determination to force himself into the couple's story pulls them into the orbit of his formidable elder brother, Jaffer Illahi (Faysal Quraishi). Jaffer is an influential local power broker with deep political connections, fierce family loyalty, and little patience for anyone who challenges the Illahi name. Written by Shagufta Bhatti and Shahid Dogar, Hook turns a love triangle into a clash between personal choice and entrenched power. Its world is charged with romance, class tension, revenge, and the frightening reach of a family accustomed to getting its way. The question is whether Haya and Zayan's bond can survive pressure designed to break it.

Editor’s Take

Faysal Quraishi gives Hook its bruising pulse, turning Jaffer's emotional turmoil into the drama's most compelling thread. Kinza Hashmi and the ensemble keep its love-and-revenge machinery emotionally charged, building a world where affection and power are constantly at war. Our one gripe? The finale drew justified frustration for an abrupt, incomplete resolution, even as Quraishi's performance earned praise. The ending may fumble the landing, but the cast makes the journey difficult to shake.
