About Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay

Adapted from Umera Ahmad's novel, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay follows three cousins shaped by childhood comparison, neglect, and carefully nursed resentment. Mehreen (Mahira Khan) is gifted and fiercely self-contained, yet the damage left by her parents makes her an easy target inside a home that rarely offers kindness. Mashal (Kubra Khan), glamorous and outwardly carefree, has spent years measuring herself against Mehreen until admiration curdles into jealousy. Between them stands Aswad (Usman Mukhtar), whose long absence and misplaced certainty leave him vulnerable to a version of their history built from half-truths. When he returns, old rivalries harden and every family bond becomes suspect. Farooq Rind frames Umera Ahmad's story as a brooding psychological mystery rather than a conventional love triangle, using diaries, memories, and uneasy silences to explore how adults pass their wounds to children. It is a tense, character-led drama about perception, emotional abuse, and the dangerous stories families tell about one another.
