About Idiot (Telefilm)

Idiot follows Gulzar (Ahmed Ali Akbar), a fiercely logical outsider whose refusal to ignore hypocrisy makes him a problem wherever he goes. As a boy, his blunt truth-telling alienates his father and brother, while his grandmother sees the intelligence and compassion beneath the troublemaker label. Grown up and living alone with his dog Acid, Gulzar keeps losing jobs because he questions every convenient injustice, from dowry and workplace abuse to the casual mistreatment of animals. His guarded routine shifts after an accidental encounter with Rameen (Mansha Pasha), a bride who abandons her wedding in search of a life she can choose for herself. Their meeting draws two restless people into a story about family pressure, personal freedom and the cost of speaking honestly.
