About Meri Guriya

Meri Guriya enters a lower-middle-class neighborhood where Shehnaz (Sania Saeed), a determined mother of three, fights to educate and protect her daughters despite relentless pressure at home. Her gentle husband Shahmeer (Sajid Hassan) loves the family but struggles to challenge his domineering mother. Nearby, state-level badminton player Safeena (Sonya Hussyn) is pushed into a marriage with Dabeer (Mohsin Abbas Haider), a seemingly harmless man whose respectable face conceals a terrifying threat. When violence against young girls strikes close to home, Shehnaz and Safeena are forced to confront the silence, intimidation, and institutional resistance surrounding child abuse. Written by Radain Shah, the drama turns a deeply painful social issue into a story about mothers, daughters, and the cost of refusing to look away. Its subject is harrowing, yet the women's resolve gives the serial its pulse: this is not misery staged for its own sake, but a plea for vigilance, education, and justice.
