About Ishq Jalebi

At the heart of Ishq Jalebi is Muhammad Boota (Qavi Khan), the stubborn patriarch behind a decades-old family catering business. With his sons settled abroad, he entrusts the shop to his son-in-law Ashiq Hussain (Noor ul Hassan) and restless grandson Basim (Wahaj Ali), who dreams of escaping Pakistan. Sharing the household is Bela (Madiha Imam), Boota's capable, warm-hearted granddaughter, whose patience is constantly tested by Basim's complaints. When questions over the business's ownership draw the scattered family home, old resentments, competing ambitions and comic misunderstandings crowd the kitchen. Writer Saima Akram Chaudhry turns this forced reunion into a lively Ramadan family dramedy, balancing romance with the push and pull of duty, migration and belonging. Wahaj Ali and Madiha Imam give the bickering cousins a playful spark, while the ensemble makes every meal and argument feel bustling.
