About Ishqaway

Set against a lively Ramadan backdrop, Ishqaway follows Shahrukh (Aagha Ali), a successful Dubai-based fashion designer who returns to Pakistan to launch his brand at home. His homecoming pulls him into an old wound: years earlier, his parents were falsely accused of theft while working for the wealthy and domineering Nirali (Maria Wasti). In Nirali's household, the warm-hearted Zoya (Nazish Jahangir) is treated as the unfavoured daughter, burdened with chores while her sister Aleena (Maryam Noor) is indulged. Around them, scheming relatives circle the family's fortune and old class resentments refuse to stay buried. When Shahrukh discovers how Zoya is being treated, compassion turns into a determined attempt to help her reclaim some agency. Written by Amar Khan, the serial mixes romance, family conflict and broad comedy as two very different lives cross inside a house ruled by grudges, favouritism and money. Its central question is simple but inviting: can decency cut through a family built on suspicion?

Aagha Ali gives Ishqaway its most convincing pulse, playing Shahrukh with a calm maturity that cuts through the show's frantic comic machinery. Nazish Jahangir is likable in Zoya's gentler moments, too, especially when the story lets her dignity speak louder than the household chaos. Our gripe? The setup leans too hard on caricature, recycled class conflict and noisy side characters, so the jokes often feel pushed instead of playful. The lead performance keeps this Ramadan potboiler from losing its heart.
