Farhad (Feroze Khan) is a sharp, self-assured DJ from the wrong side of the tracks who has never wanted for confidence, only for status. Mahi (Iqra Aziz) is the carefree daughter of a powerful Syed family, raised to look straight past boys like him. When Farhad falls, he falls with a devotion that borders on worship, and her indifference only deepens it. What starts as one man's impossible infatuation slowly transforms into something far larger: a search for meaning that pulls him away from the worldly and toward the divine. Adapted from Hashim Nadeem's novel and drenched in candlelit cinematography and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's aching title track, this is melodrama at its most operatic, where love behaves less like an emotion than a fever. Beautiful, intense, and unafraid of its own excess, it asks how far a heart can chase what it cannot have.
