About Lamhay

After years in England, expat Hashir (Shaz Khan) returns to Karachi for his ailing grandmother, Bi Jaan (Saba Faisal), and walks straight into a family history he barely understands. His father was murdered, a childhood marriage was arranged in the shadow of that loss, and Bi Jaan is determined to choose his future. Hashir, however, already has a modern wife in England and cannot bring himself to reveal the truth. He recruits the financially struggling Aleena (Zara Noor Abbas) to pose as the traditional bride Bi Jaan wants, giving Aleena a way to pay for her sick niece's care and Hashir time to untangle his secret. Their practical arrangement soon becomes a volatile triangle of affection, duty and deception. Rather than a simple fake-marriage romance, Lamhay layers inherited grief and clashing ideas of belonging beneath its domestic intrigue, asking how long a convenient lie can survive once a household begins to invest in it.

Editor’s Take

Saba Faisal gives Bi Jaan enough steel to make every drawing-room bargain feel like a power play, while Zara Noor Abbas brings welcome vulnerability to Aleena's increasingly risky charade. Our one gripe? The script keeps stacking secret marriages and shifting loyalties until the central romance starts moving through treacle. The cast keeps the contrivances watchable, but patience is part of the admission price.
