About Mere Ajnabi

Every poem Hareem Mustafa (Urwa Hocane) writes is a small act of defiance against a conservative father who would rather keep her ambitions contained. Her protective mother softens the household's edges, but cannot give Hareem the freedom or affection she craves. Convinced that Ayan is her destined partner, Hareem enters a marriage that leaves her lonelier than before. She refuses to let disappointment silence either her voice or her hope. Then Mohid Shuja (Farhan Saeed) enters her life, offering the possibility of a relationship built on recognition rather than restraint.

Written by Saima Akram Chaudhry, Mere Ajnabi turns a romantic triangle into a story about creative hunger, family pressure, and the hard work of trusting again. The drama asks whether Hareem can separate the life she imagined from the life that might genuinely fit her. It is a tender setup for viewers who like their romances threaded with resilience, difficult parents, and second chances.

Editor’s Take

We're most taken with Hareem's stubborn creative spark, which gives this tangled romance a heroine worth rooting for. The family contrasts around her also have bite, especially when elders either challenge or enable the men's distrust. Our one gripe? By the later stretch, suspicion and avoidable misunderstandings do too much of the plotting, when one honest conversation could clear the air. Yet the finale episode drew 7.6 million views, and that staying power makes sense: Hareem's hope is hard to abandon.
