About Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha

Maheer (Hania Aamir) is a young woman with her eyes on a bigger, brighter life, and Areeb (Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz), the proud, polished only son of a wealthy family, seems to offer exactly that, sweeping her toward the future she always pictured. What she does not count on is Saad (Wahaj Ali), the cousin and childhood friend who has loved her quietly for years and is willing to lay down his own pride for her happiness. As Maheer is pulled between the dazzle of Areeb's world and the steady devotion of the boy who never stopped waiting, old bonds, class, and wounded egos turn a simple choice into a tangle no one walks away from unscathed. Wahaj Ali is the whole reason this works: fresh off Tere Bin, he makes Saad's hopeless, self-effacing devotion so tender that you ache for a boy who keeps choosing a girl who will not choose him back. The OST is gorgeous too. Our gripe? The writing is nowhere near him. It coasts on his stardom and, worse, quietly assassinates Areeb's character, turning him into a cardboard villain just so Saad can look saintly. A star turn in search of a script that deserved it.
