About My Dear Cinderella

My Dear Cinderella brings a modern fairy-tale twist to Ramadan rom-com territory. Sana (Zara Peerzada), a spirited and self-assured young woman, calls herself the Cinderella of 2025, but she has no intention of waiting for a prince to rewrite her life. She is the force holding her lively family together while working to fulfil her father's dream, even as her own ambitions keep getting pushed aside. Into her orbit comes Afrasiab (Khaqan Shahnawaz), whose presence opens the door to romance without turning Sana into a damsel in distress. Around them, characters played by Juggan Kazim, Tara Mahmood, Seemi Pasha and Adnan Shah Tipu add generational friction and comic chaos. Written by Hassan Imam, the 32-episode serial mixes family bonds, cultural contrasts and light romance into an inviting daily watch. Its most appealing idea is simple: this Cinderella wants love, but she also wants authorship of her own future.

Editor’s Take

The show's brightest spark is Sana's refusal to wait around for a prince. Her modern Cinderella gives the familiar setup a welcome streak of self-determination, while the bustling household creates genuine Ramadan warmth. Our gripe is the comedy: the opener leans too hard on loud Punjabi and Pashtun stereotypes, and several jokes thud where they should sparkle. We admire the heroine's backbone, but this glass slipper needed sharper comic writing.
