The Story Behind My Dear Cinderella OST
My Dear Cinderella OST is the romantic theme for HUM TV's 2025 Ramadan serial, pairing Ali Zafar with Afshan Fawad for Sana and Afrasiab's modern fairy-tale story. Sahir Ali Bagga wrote, composed and produced the track, while Azaan Zaru played guitar. HUM Network released the soundtrack single on 13 February 2025, and the official video followed on 25 February. Its bright pop treatment and duet format complement the drama's light romantic tone. The fairy-tale framing also suits Sana, the self-assured heroine played by Zara Peerzada, and Afrasiab, played by Khaqan Shahnawaz. Their story keeps the Cinderella imagery but gives Sana agency: love enters a life already shaped by family responsibility, personal ambition and her determination to choose her own future.
Meaning & Translation
The English title, "My Dear Cinderella," is an affectionate address that casts the beloved as the heroine of a modern fairy tale. In the drama's context, Cinderella is not simply a girl waiting for a prince. She represents Sana, who carries her family's hopes while trying to protect her own ambitions. The romantic idea is recognition as much as rescue: love means seeing the woman behind those responsibilities and making room for the future she wants. The song's upbeat mood turns the familiar glass-slipper fantasy into a promise that ordinary life can feel magical without asking its heroine to give up her independence.
