About Neeyat

Set among young Pakistani expatriates in New York, Neeyat follows a student and aspiring writer (Mahira Khan) who hopes to build a life with her banker boyfriend (Humayun Saeed). His temporary visa threatens that future, so the couple turns to an American citizen (Deepti Gupta) and a contract marriage designed to keep him in the country. What begins as a practical arrangement soon unsettles every emotional boundary: affection grows where it was never meant to, old loyalties start to fray, and a photographer (Ahsan Khan) carries his own complicated devotion to the young woman at the centre of it all. Mehreen Jabbar frames this romantic tangle against wintry streets, coffee shops, and the lonely freedom of life far from family. Written by Larry Pontius, the serial is less interested in loud domestic warfare than in migrants trying to make adult choices without the social anchors they left behind.
