About Pyar Kahani
Masha (Hania Aamir) is a celebrated young storyteller, all deadlines and superstitions, racing to finish the final installment of her hit serial while her mother nags her to spend less time writing and more time learning to run a home. Salaar (Asim Azhar) is her opposite number: the son of a wealthy businessman who walked away from the family fortune to chase his dream of becoming a writer, and is collecting rejection slips for his trouble. When the famous author and the struggling hopeful are thrown together, their egos, ambitions, and very different fortunes spark a rivalry that keeps tipping, against both their better judgment, toward something softer. A breezy telefilm written by Kishore Asmal and directed by Aehsun Talish for HUM TV, Pyar Kahani is a light romantic comedy about two writers, one chasing fame and one chasing meaning, who end up rewriting each other's stories.
Editor’s Take
This one works almost entirely on the fizz between Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar, a couple offscreen at the time, and you can feel it: the banter is loose, the flirting unforced, the comic timing genuinely cute. It is a lovely hang. Our gripe? There is not much under the charm. The dueling-writers premise is wafer-thin, the conflicts evaporate on contact, and the whole thing floats by on star chemistry rather than story. Pure chemistry, not much kahani.
