In Lahore, SP Sarah Sikander (Saba Qamar) returns to Pakistan after a Fulbright stint in the United States and takes charge in the Special Branch. Her first major case begins when a woman's body is discovered inside an abandoned red suitcase at a bus terminal. The victim is Amna Tufail (Sabeena Farooq), also known online as Zarish, and the trail reaches from a beauty salon run by Babra (Faiza Gillani) to a rickshaw driver who seems to surface wherever the clues lead. Sarah is methodical, fiercely committed to evidence, and surrounded by officers more comfortable with stereotypes than forensics. That clash gives Umera Ahmed's murder mystery its sharpest pulse. As fingerprints, baggage tags, social media identities, and uneasy witnesses complicate the investigation, every ordinary detail starts to look suspicious. Serial Killer trades drawing-room feuds for procedural tension, placing a disciplined woman at the centre of a Lahore crime story where secrets hide in plain sight and certainty is always one clue away from collapsing.

We love how the story trusts procedure, evidence, and Lahore's social textures instead of falling back on family feuds. Our one gripe? The opening throws so many suspicious faces at us that a few arrive as clues before they feel like people. Still, this is the kind of homegrown crime thriller we want more of: alert, atmospheric, and deliciously nosy.
