About Surkh Chandni
Surkh Chandni follows Ayda (Sohai Ali Abro), a young woman in a close-knit, lower-income neighbourhood whose future with her steadfast fiancé Amaan (Osman Khalid Butt) is shattered when Jawad (Asad Siddiqui), an obsessive suitor, attacks her with acid after she rejects him. The assault changes Ayda's face, but the serial refuses to reduce her to the wound. As she confronts trauma, public gossip and a family buckling under pressure, Amaan and his compassionate mother Safina (Huma Nawab) become anchors in a difficult fight to reclaim her confidence and seek justice. Written by Asma Nabeel, the story widens beyond one survivor to examine the neighbourhood politics, police failures, medical care and social support that shape recovery. It is a painful watch, but also an unusually tender love story about dignity that survives cruelty, with Sohai Ali Abro giving Ayda's transformation from vulnerable daughter to determined survivor real emotional force.
