About Yaariyan
Yaariyan turns a birthday gathering into a family fault line. Sadia (Momal Sheikh) is married to Ahmer (Junaid Khan), though their rukhsati remains on hold while her family waits for an uncle to return from America. Her younger sister Zobia (Ayeza Khan), raised under the same strict values but far more defiant, is secretly involved with wealthy, reckless Umair (Muneeb Butt). When Zobia brings Umair to Sadia's birthday, Ahmer arrives at the worst possible moment and mistakes what he sees, placing Sadia's character and marriage under suspicion. What follows is a tangle of sisterhood, loyalty, pride, and the damage a single assumption can cause inside a tightly controlled household. Sameena Aijaz's serial thrives on volatile relationships rather than mystery, giving its four leads a pressure-cooker setup where affection is repeatedly tested by family expectations. It is a glossy, emotionally charged melodrama built for viewers who enjoy domestic conflict, romantic complications, and loyalties that refuse to stay simple.
Editor’s Take
Hina Bayat is Yaariyan's secret weapon, giving Aliya a warmth and grace that cuts through the household's suspicion and melodrama. We only wish Sameena Aijaz's script trusted that nuance elsewhere: too many characters arrive painted in stark black and white, and the forced-marriage machinery can feel painfully familiar. Still, the four-way knot between Sadia, Zobia, Ahmer, and Umair keeps the emotional pressure high. Come for the tangled loyalties, stay for Bayat's calm amid the storm.
