Jaag Rahi brings Fariha Pervez and Ali Noor together for their first collaboration, recasting the Sassi-Punnun romance as a contemporary thumri for Coke Studio 2020. Rohail Hyatt produced and arranged the performance, building on Mujahid Hussain's original composition while composing Ali Noor's answering passage. Zahid Abbas wrote the original text, and Asim Raza added the words for Noor's part. The arrangement lets Pervez carry Sassi's sleepless longing before Noor enters as the distant beloved, turning a solo lament into a dialogue across separation. Shehroze Hussain's sitar gives the track its clearest classical color, while restrained percussion and electric and acoustic textures widen the frame without crowding the voices. Jaag rahi means "I remain awake" or "I am awake." The title captures a lover kept sleepless by absence, with her thoughts so full of her beloved that rest is impossible.
