The Story Behind Ek Pal Ka Malaal OST
Ek Pal Ka Malaal OST brings together singers Aqeel Ahmed and Rasmia Baloch for Urdu1's drama about a father's bargain and its devastating consequences. The broadcaster's official soundtrack upload runs three minutes and 53 seconds and is dated 25 July 2020.
The serial follows Sahib Ali and his three daughters. Facing financial hardship, he accepts money to take responsibility for someone else's crime. That bargain later leaves him vulnerable to a much graver false accusation, while his daughter Kiran, a newspaper reporter, works to save him. Directed by Saleem Ghanchi and produced by Eveready, the drama gives the title's idea of lasting regret a concrete setting: a brief decision with consequences for an entire family.
Meaning & Translation
Ek Pal Ka Malaal means "the regret of a single moment" in Urdu. Ek pal refers to one moment; malaal carries the sense of regret, sorrow or a lingering ache. The phrase places a very short span of time beside a feeling that can last much longer.
Read alongside the drama, the title suggests how a choice made under pressure can echo through a family's life. Sahib Ali's bargain gives that idea a specific context: the promised relief becomes a source of suffering. Regret reaches beyond the person who made the decision, touching the people who must live with its consequences.
