The Story Behind Lashkara OST
Lashkara OST is ARY Digital's title song for its 2018 drama, with Sana Zulfiqar, Zeeshan Ali and Faqeer sharing the vocal billing. This official upload presents the theme in a compact seventy-second cut. The serial stars Ushna Shah as Bubbly, whose beauty and confidence draw attention in the lanes of old Lahore. Imran Ashraf plays her devoted neighbour Sunny, while Mohsin Abbas Haider plays Feeka, the man she marries. Zafar Mairaj wrote the drama, and Kashif Nisar directed it, following a romantic triangle that grows tangled with pride and jealousy. The soundtrack's title borrows the Punjabi image of a bright flash, echoing Bubbly's conspicuous presence in her neighbourhood and the disruption that follows being admired.
Meaning & Translation
Lashkara is a Punjabi word for a flash or gleam, the kind of sudden sparkle that catches someone's eye. Here that image becomes a way of describing a woman's confidence and the commotion her beauty creates around her. The words move between colloquial Urdu and Punjabi, mixing playful self-assurance with flirtation and promises of devotion. Admiration is presented as something public: the neighbourhood notices, and the woman at the centre knows the effect she has. Read alongside Bubbly's story, that brightness carries an edge, since being desired also brings jealousy and competing expectations. The title captures attraction as a dazzling, disruptive force.
