The Story Behind Hum Tanha Hi Rehte

Hum Tanha Hi Rehte is the separately named OST for HUM TV's Neeli Kothi. The channel uploaded it on 22 December 2025, billing Sami Khan and Rahma Ali as its singers. Khan composed the song and shares the lyric credit with Akhter Munir. The official description frames the track around love, longing and feelings left unsaid, and the returning title phrase keeps that sense of solitude in view.

Neeli Kothi follows a young woman who inherits a mansion marked by old secrets. Anmol Baloch and Talha Chahour are among the drama's billed cast. In that setting, the duet gives the romance a voice without making the song another synopsis of the show. Its words move from quietly carrying sorrow toward the possibility of facing an uncertain path together, a turn that suits the drama's guarded emotional world.

Meaning & Translation

The title Hum Tanha Hi Rehte means "We would have remained alone." It imagines a life spent carrying sorrow in silence until a bond with another person changes the direction of that life. The song does not present love as a neat erasure of pain: joy and grief remain uncertain, but the speaker now has someone beside them. Images of the road, the passing of day and night, and a shared journey under the stars turn that change into a picture of movement. Its emotional centre is companionship, the hope that closeness can make an unpredictable future bearable.
