The Story Behind Woh Mera Dil Tha OST

Woh Mera Dil Tha OST is the title theme of ARY Digital's 2018 serial, with Mair Hassan and Nimra Rafiq billed on the soundtrack's official streaming release. ARY's September 2018 YouTube upload presents a compact 91-second cut. Its description credits S.K. Khalish for the lyrics and Joshua Keyth Benjamin and Dannis for the arrangement.

The serial was written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Mohsin Ali, with Madiha Imam, Sami Khan and Furqan Qureshi leading its tangled relationships. Naina's attachment to Arham gives way to a forced marriage with Zaid, placing parental control and personal choice at the centre of the story. The later ARY Digital streaming edition runs 4:59, whereas this official upload preserves the shorter soundtrack cut.

Meaning & Translation

Woh Mera Dil Tha translates literally as "That was my heart." In romantic Urdu, the heart can stand for the person who holds one's love, as well as for one's own capacity to feel. The past-tense tha makes the title sound like a memory rather than a declaration in the present. Read beside the serial's story of love disrupted by family pressure, it suggests someone looking back at an attachment they could not freely choose or protect. The phrase draws its poignancy from that small shift in time: the love mattered, even after the relationship changed.
