About Balaa

Balaa turns jealousy into a pressure cooker inside two closely linked families. Nigar (Ushna Shah) is wealthy, sharp and accustomed to her father's unquestioning devotion, yet years of being reduced to her disability have hardened her insecurity into a need for control. Her fixation on her cousin Taimoor (Bilal Abbas Khan), a decent man wary of her proud household, gives that need a dangerous target. Around them, Nigar's brother Junaid (Asad Siddiqui), Taimoor's warm-hearted mother Shama (Samina Peerzada), and their siblings become entangled in a web of wounded pride, romantic rivalry and family loyalty. Written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, the serial refuses to make Nigar either a helpless victim or a simple caricature. She is magnetic precisely because her vulnerability and calculation sit side by side. With Badar Mehmood tightening the atmosphere, Balaa is a dark family thriller about what happens when love is treated as something to possess rather than earn.
