About Chupke Chupke
In a sprawling, gloriously chaotic joint family, two grandmothers, the widows of the late Nawab, have spent years turning every wedding, dinner, and minor disagreement into open warfare. Into this battlefield of egos come Meenu (Ayeza Khan), a bubbly, sharp-tongued young woman, and Faazi (Osman Khalid Butt), the easygoing, quick-witted heir at the center of it all. As the elders scheme, matches are made and unmade, misunderstandings pile up, and two people who insist they cannot stand each other keep ending up on the same side. A Ramadan-season favorite written by Saima Akram Chaudhry and directed by Danish Nawaz, Chupke Chupke is a warm, big-hearted family comedy of errors, the kind powered by banter, mischief, and meddling relatives rather than melodrama. It is comfort television about love sneaking up on you while everyone around you is busy fighting over something else.
Editor’s Take
The real surprise is Ayeza Khan: long cast as the weeping heroine, she's a revelation in comic mode, and her bickering, slow-thaw chemistry with Osman Khalid Butt's Faazi is a joy. Even better are the warring grandmothers, who steal every scene they grumble through, and the humor is observed, not forced. Our gripe? It's featherweight by design: 30 Ramadan episodes stretch the misunderstandings thin, and the stakes never top a teacup storm. Pure comfort food, watch for the laughs, not the plot.
