About Mere Apne

Mere Apne turns the tradition of watta-satta, or exchange marriage, into a tightening knot between two households. Neha (Hajra Yameen) and her cousin Omer (Ali Abbas) want to marry, but Neha's father will agree only if Omer's cherished sister Ramsha (Zainab Shabbir) is matched with his irresponsible son Hamza (Usama Khan). What begins as a bargain made in the name of family soon exposes how differently each bride is valued. Neha enters a comfortable home yet finds herself caught between competing loyalties, while Ramsha faces a harsher life and fights to be treated as an equal. Omer tries to hold both families together as manipulation, class resentment, and sibling devotion pull the couples apart. Written by Qurat-ul-Ain Akhter and Dilawar Khan, the serial uses a familiar domestic setup to examine the cost of treating marriage as leverage. Its crowded family world keeps every choice personal, making the conflict easy to understand and difficult to dismiss.
