About Muqaddar ka Sitara

Muqaddar ka Sitara turns a convenient family arrangement into a sharp warning about using marriage to repair bad parenting. Safdar (Babar Ali), a self-made Pakistani American, believes his wealth can cushion every mistake made by his reckless son, Faizan (Arez Ahmed). His solution is to marry Faizan to Hadiya (Fatima Effendi), the gentle, educated daughter of an old friend. Hadiya leaves her middle-class world and her work at her father's school only to discover that privilege cannot manufacture kindness or responsibility. Complicating the uneasy household is Razi (Inayat Khan), Safdar's principled nephew, whose integrity makes Faizan look even more adrift and whose bond with Hadiya adds emotional pressure to an already fraught marriage. Written by Sadia Akhtar, the serial follows Hadiya as she faces the cost of other people's choices and begins to understand that patience alone cannot change her destiny. It is a family drama built around a pointed question: can a wedding fix what upbringing failed to teach?

Editor’s Take

The premise has teeth: a family treating Hadiya as the cure for Faizan's failures, then expecting her to absorb the damage with a smile. Fatima Effendi gives that unfair bargain a quietly sympathetic center, while Arez Ahmed makes privilege feel genuinely poisonous. Our one gripe? At 62 episodes, the drama keeps circling Hadiya's suffering long after its point has landed. Still, a finale drawing more episode views than the premiere suggests viewers stayed invested. A pointed social warning with soap-sized stamina.
