The Story Behind Ishq Beparwah OST
Ishq Beparwah OST is the title theme for Green TV's 2024 serial Ishq Beparwah, pairing Dr. Masuma Anwar's lead vocal with Atif Ali's composition and production and Wardah Lodhi's lyrics. The drama, written by Samina Ejaz and directed by Ilyas Kashmiri, follows Jannat as marriage makes her question the belief that a wife must obey her husband without reservation. That tension runs through the song: devotion arrives not as comfort but as surrender, with a wounded narrator giving everything to an indifferent beloved. Anwar's controlled, plaintive delivery keeps the emotion intimate while the recurring refrain turns sacrifice into the track's emotional center. The OST frames the romance between Alizeh Shah and Affan Waheed's characters as both attraction and a test of self-worth.
Meaning & Translation
Ishq Beparwah means a love that is careless or indifferent to consequences. The song speaks from the perspective of someone who has surrendered everything, only to find that devotion answered with pain and distance. Its central idea is not carefree romance, but love behaving without concern for the person it wounds. Images of fire, ashes, thorns, tears, sunlight and shade trace a relationship that has marked both body and spirit. The narrator accepts even the beloved's estrangement because that person still holds an exalted place in her heart. By returning to the language of losing and sacrificing all, the refrain turns romantic surrender into a warning about erasing oneself for love.
